Fellowship applicants must be full-time CSC faculty members committed to developing projects that contribute to the mission and goals of the Teaching & Learning Center (TLC) and/or the six Master Academic Plan (MAP) priorities as they relate to instruction and/or faculty development.
With the help and support of TLC staff—technology and instructional design specialists—fellows must deliver an original instructional or scholarly work product that the College may use or adapt. Projects that culminate in some form of media or software will bear a CC-BY-NC license, making it possible for educators and students to copy, redistribute, remix, transform, and build upon the material.
Fellowship stipends are $5,000, of which $2,000 is paid upon the receipt of the instructional or scholarly work product, which must meet Creative Commons guidelines (for licensing and distribution) as well as universal design standards (for ADA compliance). Fellowship timeframes are for a single semester (four months), and all work related to the fellowship should be completed within this timeframe. As well, all expenditures must support the development of the work product in clear and reasonable ways.
Fellows can expect the full support of TLC staff in their endeavors. Staff will assist in every conceivable manner, including the planning, development, and distribution of the instructional or scholarly work product. In the spirit of fellowship, fellows are also expected to deliver two one-hour seminars through the TLC that are directly or tangentially related to their work product.
