Questions of this nature were asked during the third annual Blue Key Club Brain Bowl Competition. The competition kicked off at 6 pm on Thursday, April 16th on the upper level of the Library Learning Commons (in the classroom space known as “the fishbowl”).
Six teams consisting of three students each competed. Brain Bowl is a single-elimination trivia competition in which teams compete in three-minute rounds. Questions on subject areas similar to Trivial Pursuit are asked by Blue Key members, and the third (or final round) consists of a single question. Before each question is asked, teams must wager points; then they have 30 seconds to write an answer.
The Brain Bowl Competition has become a popular event on campus, drawing many spectators. The winning team included Jake Murphy, Barrett Browne, and Alex Coon, and the second-place team consisted of Sarah Townsend, Erin Vacha, and Callie Johnson. First-place winners were awarded Kindle Fires, and second-place winners received $10 gift certificates.
