The new name was selected by coffee shop customers out of four possible names: Book Ends, Reader’s Corner, Campus Java, and the King’s Cup. The LLC is pleased with the book-themed name because of the coffee shop’s proximity to its fiction collection.
Book End’s new supervisor started work this month; she moved to Chadron from Winter Haven, Florida where she worked in retail management.
Lauren loves people, cats, and coffee!
Book Ends is open 8:00 am to 8:00 pm, Mondays through Thursdays, and 8:00 to 11:00 am on Fridays. Book Ends offers “happy hour” every morning from 8:00 to 9:00 am, which includes special pricing on any Virtu coffee ($1.49 instead of the rest-of-the-day $2.49). House coffee is $1.29 throughout the day.
Punch cards for coffee and sandwich purchases are available to all customers, so regulars are rewarded occasionally with free beverages and meals. Customers can accelerate their rewards on Wednesdays, which is “double punch day.” When a punch card has 9 punches, customers receive a free coffee or sandwich.
Daily lunches consist of fresh salads, sandwiches, and wraps. Also available are cookies, fresh scones, chips, breakfast bars, fresh fruit, and Cherry Berry yogurt. The menu at Book Ends is a work in progress and is responsive to customer suggestions. When you’re next in the LLC, stop in for a cup and check out a book. In addition to its regular collection, the Library has a new rotating book collection, featuring many hot-of-the-press titles.
