The Teaching & Learning Technologies (TLT) staff members are pleased to welcome Dr. David Kendrick as the new Associate Vice President for Teaching and Learning Technologies. Dr. Kendrick will take over as head of the TLT on July 1st.
Dr. Kendrick comes to Chadron State College with a strong background in pedagogy and educational technology. He was the inaugural director of University of Northern Colorado’s Center for the Enhancement of Teaching & Learning (CETL) and served in that position for 10 years. He has taught in a variety of environments, including K-12, community college, undergraduate, graduate, and adult learners (both domestically and overseas). He is eager to bring these experiences to CSC and to begin collaborating with faculty and staff in efforts to support teaching and learning on our campus.
Dr. Kendrick is excited to expand his responsibilities to administer the Library Learning Commons (LLC), as he has a long history of cooperating with librarians. In his tenure at UNCO, he thought it was crucial to include librarians in the academic community he created in the CETL and consistently included them as participants in Faculty Fellows teams. He is a long admirer of the Academic Commons recently created at University of Denver and other institutions and is excited that CSC had the foresight to create a Library Learning Commons. He looks forward to the opportunity of working in this environment.
Vice President for Academic Affairs Charles Snare remarked, “We are thrilled Dr. Kendrick has accepted the position. He possesses experiences and skills that will advance the TLT to the next level. During the past three years, the TLC and LLC have worked long and hard to create a solid foundation and team. Such a combination has the potential to bring out the best in the TLT and the best of CSC.”
