The Transitional Studies Program prepares students for success in entry-level college courses and beyond. Students are eligible to join the program based on their ACT/SAT scores. The ACT/SAT scores indicate what type of additional assistance is needed. Once this is identified, Transitional Studies custom builds the students’ course schedules.
To ensure student success, Transitional Studies works closely with the Learning Center, Project Strive/TRiO, Career Services and the Library staff. The Learning Center provides one-on-one tutoring services in all major subject areas, Career Services assists in career exploration and internship opportunities, Project Strive/TRiO hosts countless events relating to learning and study skills, and the Library staff provides instruction on navigating the library databases and locating research materials.
Additional academic support includes:
Problem solving/goal setting
Academic success skills
Back on Track (mentoring program)
Early Alerts (retention tool)
The Transitional Studies office is located in Room 200.2 on the main level of the Library Learning Center and the normal office hours are Monday-Friday 7:30AM – 4:30PM.
